As a child, Victor delivered groceries and met

The family moved to Avoca where he became a
partner with Mildred’s parents in J & W Hardware
store. In 1961 he spent nineteen years with H.
G. Nelsen Truckline in Omaha, becoming a partner
with several others in 1980. For over thirty
years he was an avid bowler and played golf. He
tried to go to every game his grandchildren were
in and support them in their school activities.
He was a member of the VFW, a past president of
Rotary Club, and a long-time member of Trinity
Lutheran Church.
Victor was a resident of Avoca Nursing and Rehab
Center and died at the University of Nebraska
Medical Center on February 28, 2009, having
attained the age of ninety years and twenty-six
