David John Turner was born on June 21, 1954 to John and Janis (Gardner) Turner in Omaha, Nebraska. He was baptized at the Nazarene Church in Council Bluffs, Iowa. After high school, he went into the United States Army, serving from January 24, 1972 to September 11, 1972 at Fort Benning, Georgia, earning the Sharpshooter badge with Rifle Bar and the Hand Grenade Bar. He graduated from Dana College in 1986 with a degree in Accounting and a minor in Management.
David was married to Deb Dooley in 1974. They became parents to two children: David Jr. and Sarah. They later divorced. David married Rhonda Vukson on November 16, 2005 and they later divorced. He worked in upholstery and accounting and enjoyed traveling and riding motor cycles.
David died on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at his home in Harlan, attaining the age of sixty-one years, three months and twenty-seven days. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John Turner; and a sister, Jane Regal.
He is survived by his son David Turner, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer Kuesar, of Chicago, Illinois, daughter Sarah Turner of Atlantic, Iowa, son Cody Turner of Alton, Missouri, brother Chuck Turner of Council Bluffs, Iowa; sister Sue Boruff of Harlan, Iowa and sister Carol Turner also of Harlan; two grandchildren: Ethan and Sonielle Turner; other family members and many friends.
