Goslar, Jr. and Lois Quandt Goslar. She was received into God’s Kingdom of Grace through the sacrament of Holy Baptism September 4, 1955, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Charter Oak, Iowa, and confirmed in her Christian Faith there March 30, 1969. She was raised on the farm north of Berne and received her elementary education at St. John’s Lutheran School in Charter Oak before graduating from the Charter Oak-Ute High School with the class of 1973. On August 12, 1973, Debra was united in marriage with Ronald Fink at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Charter Oak. Their union was blessed with three children: stillborn daughter Jennifer Marie Fink, August 14, 1981, Jessica and Jeffery. They made their home in Denison where throughout her adult married life Debra pursued her college degrees when time allowed receiving her Associative Arts degree in 2001 and her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2012. In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker she was employed as a secretary at Crawford County Memorial Hospital and later worked part time at Mr. Paint in Denison. Her career as a pre-school teacher began at Zion Lutheran School in 1989 and then at Immanuel Lutheran Pre-School in Schleswig. In 2002 she became the director of the Imagination Station in Denison. From 2005 until 2007 Debra was a caregiver for her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donald E. and Kathryn Fink. In 2007, Debra began the Zion Pre-School in Manning, Iowa, where she was currently employed and since 2005 has been an Early Childhood Consultant for Iowa District West and on the National Association for the Education of Young Children for Iowa. In her leisure time she enjoyed caring for her granddaughter, scrapbooking, the antics of her beloved dog, Sam, assisting with her children’s activities and sports, going out for dinner with family and friends, her bowling league and caring for others, always with a cheerful disposition. She was a dirt track race fan, especially of her son. She was 01F Racing Team’s biggest supporter and fan. She also enjoyed holidays with her family. She loved Christmas with all the baking, church events and gatherings. Debra loved to travel, not only with her job with Iowa District West but vacations to Colorado and most recently their trip to Jamaica in January of this year for Jeff and Michelle’s wedding. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. Surrounded by her loving family, Debra died at her home Wednesday night, April 8, 2015. At the time of her death she had been blessed with 59 years, 8 months and 4 days. Including her stillborn daughter, Jennifer Marie Fink, Debra was also preceded in death by her father: Edward C. Goslar; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Donald E. and Kathryn Fink; sister-in-law and husband: Sharon and Pastor Joseph Boysen and brother-in-law Kyle Plagge. Those remaining to cherish her memory include her husband, Ronald Fink of Denison, Iowa; daughter, Jessica Pilling and husband Nick of Clive, Iowa; son, Jeffery Fink and wife Michelle and granddaughter Brooklynn of Denison, Iowa; mother, Lois Goslar of Charter Oak, Iowa; brother, Tim Goslar and wife Diane of Denison, Iowa; sisters: Nancy Kruse and husband Vern of Cushing, Iowa and Patty Goslar of Charter Oak, Iowa; her beloved dog Sam; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at Zion Lutheran Church, Denison, Iowa, with Rev. Kurt R. Kaiser and Rev. Robert Riggert officiating. Music for the service was provided by Eldon Hardekopf singing “On the Wings of a Snow White Dove”, a recorded selection of “Jesus Loves Me” by the Zion Lutheran Preschool, Manning, Iowa and Congregational Hymns of “When Peace, Like A River” and “What A Friend We Have In Jesus” with Karen Kahl serving as organist. Honorary Pallbearers included David Keating, Jan Griffin, Dave and Janice Nemitz and Norm and Sue Johnston. Pallbearers were Terry Goslar, Kevin Goslar, Brandon Kruse, Ryan Johnston, Todd Klockgether, and John “Doc” Griffin. Interment was at Crawford Heights Memory Gardens, Denison, Iowa with Rev. Jonathan Conner officiating the graveside service. Following the interment the family invited everyone to return to the church and join them for fellowship and a luncheon provided by Zion Ladies Aid.
