Dominic L. Elkins Profile Photo
My name is Dominic Lloyd Elkins and I was born in Harlan, Iowa, on November 12, 2007. My moms name is Barbara Kunch and my dads name is Thomas Ball. I went to a couple different preschools in Harlan, Irwin, Zion Lutheran Preschool in Manning, and the Heartland School in Council Bluffs.
Some of my most favorite things were racecars - I really loved all kinds of racing and would watch the races on T.V. I also loved playing with cars and could watch the Cars I and Cars II movies over and over! I liked to wear camo and pretend I was an Army guy.
I learned to ride my bike and did really good riding around on it. I just really liked playing outside and thought it was really great when I got to go camping, swimming, or fishing! I even got to go to the zoo sometimes. That was so cool to see all those animals.
I liked to watch Looney Toons on T.V., and my other favorite movies were the Avengers and Transformers. I wanted a car like Bumblebee!
Country music was my favorite to listen to and I was a pretty good dancer, too. But my most favorite thing was playing with my mom and having her read a book to me. We got to have special time when we did that. I would give her lots of hugs and kisses. I would give anyone hugs and kisses!
There is a sad part to my story and thats that I died on Saturday, August 31, 2013. I was only five years, nine months, and nineteen days old. But I get to see my great-grandpa Jonny Elkins in Heaven because he died before me.
I have a lot of family that I had to leave here: my mom Barbara Kunch of Atlantic, Iowa; my dad Thomas Ball of Webster City, Iowa; grandma Danelle Kunch of Glenwood, Iowa; great-grandma Catherine Elkins of Glenwood, Iowa; my two aunts Rose Kunch of Glenwood and Jolene Kunch of Council Bluffs, Iowa; my uncle Ashton Elkins of Glenwood; my special grandparents Stacy and Richard Hansen of Manilla, Iowa; my godmother DeeAnn Myres of Omaha, Nebraska; other family members; and lots of my friends.
Pastor Brian Taylor officiated the 1:00 PM funeral service at Pauley Jones Funeral Home on Saturday, September 7, 2013. Serving as casket bearers were Evan Dille, Chris Dille, Russell Wirth, and Matt Monhs. Interment was held at the Harlan Cemetery.
