Estelle M. Quinn

Estelle Marie Quinn, daughter of Jacob August and Elizabeth (Heinzelmeir) Eckermann was born November 9, 1925 in Defiance, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Defiance. She attended grade and high school at St. Paul’s School in Defiance, where she graduated with the class of 1944.
In June of 1946 Estelle was married. She had four children Dennis, Mary Ann, Daniel, and Donald. While raising her children, she worked at Jim’s Locker then Farmland Foods. She retired in 2014 at the age of 89 from Clean Air.
Estelle enjoyed quilting, embroidering, and making pot holders. She also liked baking with her specialty being cream filled cupcakes. She loved playing BINGO. She was a loving mother, grandma, great grandma and sister.
Estelle died on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Elm Crest Assisted Living in Harlan, attaining the age of ninety-six years, and four days. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son Dan, grandson Casey and siblings Mildred, Theresa, Joan, Arthur, and August.
She is survived by her children Dennis (Lois) Quinn of Chaska, Minnesota; Mary Ann (Chet) Plisiewicz of Delray Beach, Florida; Donald (Barbara) Quinn of Langhorne, Pennsylvania; daughter-in-law Linda Quinn of Harlan, Iowa; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; siblings Jean Skinner of Tacoma, Washington; Louis Eckermann of Omaha, Nebraska; Mary Miller of Irwin, Iowa; Rosalie Woods of Madison, Wisconsin; Linda Schnuettgen of Denison, Iowa; nieces and nephews; other family members and friends.
