Helen M. Robinson

Helen Mae Robinson, the daughter of Halver and Amanda Meisner Wikan, was born on July 20, 1925 in Elkader, Iowa. She was confirmed at Highland Lutheran Church and attended school in Elkader until the eighth grade.
Helen was united in marriage to Keith Robinson on April 28, 1946, in Elkader, Iowa. They made their home in Elkader until Keith�s death when the family then moved to the family farm near Shelby, Iowa. Helen owned and operated the Dinner Bell Caf� in Shelby for many years and devoted her time to her farm and family.
Helen died on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at the Oakland Manor Nursing Home in Oakland, Iowa having attained the age of eighty-three years, one month and one day. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Keith.
Survivors include her children: Richard Robinson and his wife Karen of Beardstown, Illinois; Lois and her husband Larry Knop of Hancock, Iowa; David Robinson and his wife Lori; Daniel Robinson and his wife Kim and Darian Robinson all of Shelby, Iowa; eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one brother John Wikan and his wife Peg of Waukon, Iowa; nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral Services were held on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Avoca, Iowa. Mr. Wayne Paulsen officiated the 10:30 AM service. Interment was held at the Shelby Cemetery in Shelby, Iowa with Rashana Wells, Melissa Robinson, Ashley Robinson, Tyler Robinson, and Dylan Robinson serving as honorary casket bearers. Acting as casket bearers were: Troy Knop, Keith Robinson, Brock Knop, Derek Knop, Ross Robinson, and Keith Knopp.
