Ronald Eugene Rose was born on November 26, 1947 to Eugene and Larene Krieger Rose in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He went to Holcomb Kansas Elementary School and then graduated from Carson High School in Carson Iowa. He later graduated from police academy.
Ron was chief of police in Harlan, Iowa and worked for Federal Bureau of Prisons and ended up in Sarpy County with the State of Nebraska for probation and was there for 10 years before he retired due to illness.
Ron always enjoyed coaching little league boys baseball and girls softball, which he did for 27 years. He had served on the Carroll City Council for eight years and ran for Iowa Congress. Ron served on many boards and commissions throughout his law enforcement career. He enjoyed working with people. Ron’s love for the outdoors made a love for hunting, fishing, boating and camping.
Ron died February 7, 2022 and was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Larene Rose, and a daughter Terri Rose.
He is survived by his children, Julie Rose, Sheri Rose (Trapp), Ryan Rose, Matt Rose and Michaela Rose (Butler); seven grandchildren Nick Trapp, Jake Trapp, Ashley Rose, Abby Trapp, Jaden Taylor, Shelby Metzler, and Kaleb Rose.
