Sandra Lee Bintz was born on March 13, 1936 to Melvin and Edna (Hurd) Bullock in Neola, Iowa. Sandra attended school in Shelby, Iowa and graduated with the class of 1954. She was united in marriage on August 14, 1955 to Harold "Shorty" Bintz. To this union they had four children: Connie, Steven, Patti and Nancy.
Sandra spent her life being a farmer's wife. She helped with chores, field work, milking the cows and chicken chores to name a few. She loved to garden, was an avid baker and was known for her chocolate pie. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary for 62 years, active in the Minden United Church of Christ helping teach Sunday school and helping with the Women's Fellowship. She was a card player and loved playing the game of Pitch with her neighbors. She was a devoted wife and mother and would always follow the kids to all their sporting events. In her younger days, her and Shorty would play softball together on a team.
Sandra passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at the Midlands Living Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa having attained the age of 87 years, 2 months and 22 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Harold "Shorty"; and her sisters Ninette and Jeanette.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Connie (Rick) Volz of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Steven (Janet) Bintz of Neola, Iowa; Patti (Steve) Hibbeler of Phoenix, Arizona; Nancy (Tom) Fischer of Overland Park, Kansas; 8 grandchildren: Stacy (James) Springgate of Sparks, NV; Pamela Volz (Jamie Hess) of Council Bluffs, IA; Christopher (Cheyenne) Lattimore of Janesville, MN; Kevin (Melissa) Bintz of LeCenter, MN; Cash Hibbeler of Phoenix, AZ; Kari Hibbeler of Kansas City, MO; Mindy (John) Rawlston of Springhill, KS; Tyler Fischer of Farmers Branch, TX; 8 great-grandchildren: Pearl, Patton, Ronan, Jackson, Olivia, Henry, Davis and Kate; other family and many friends.
