Scottie Mitchell

Scottie Lynn Mitchell, son of Charles, Jr. And Charlotte (Cockrell) Mitchell, was born on September 24, 1977 in Indianola, Mississippi. In 2004, Scottie enlisted in the National Guard and was so proud to serve his country. He completed basic training in Fort Knox, Kentucky. This is where he would earn the nickname “Bull”. In February 2005, Scottie was deployed to Iraq where he would spend the next several months. Scottie loved his family and friends beyond measure. His biggest joy was spending time with his son Jacob and taking him fishing. He would always mention how smart he is and was so proud of him. He was an excellent hunter, fisherman and pool player. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends doing these things and teaching his nephews and younger cousins what he knew about these sports. Scottie excelled at welding; he loved that he got to do this for a living as a millwright with Patriot Crane & Rigging of Omaha, Nebraska.

Scottie passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022, having attained the age of 45 years 3 months and 5 days. Left to cherish his memory are his mother Charlotte (Anthony) Holloway of Shelby, Iowa; father Charles, Jr. (Cindy) Mitchell of Indianola, Mississippi; sons Jacob Mitchell of Minden, Iowa; Hunter Geraets of Carter Lake, Iowa; siblings Stevie (Barbara) Mitchell of Avoca, Iowa; Victoria (Samuel) Sanchez of Indianola, Mississippi; Charles Mitchell, III of Indianola, Mississippi; Andy (Whitney) Holloway; Randall Holloway; nephews Stevie Mitchell, Jr.(MiKayla), Michael Mitchell and James Holloway; nieces Megan Mitchell, Kristen Holloway, Katelynn Holloway and Hailey Holloway; special friends Jessica McMillen and Hunter Bregar; host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other family and many friends.
