Tammy Lynn Andersen was born on March 8, 1961 in Huron, South Dakota. She was the daughter of Clyde and Patricia Mueller. She grew up in Humboldt, Iowa and graduated high school with the class of 1979. After graduation she attended Southeastern Community College to get her Associates in teaching and later continued her education at Iowa Western Community College for teaching.
Tammy was married at the age of 19 and to this union they had two children: Marcus and Mandy. She met Michael Bentzen of Harlan, in 2012, and the two began their life together. Tammy worked at McDonald’s in Walnut during her 34-year teaching career. She was a preschool teacher at AHSTW Community School District and adored her kids and the school's education. Tammy enjoyed camping, reading and played multiple instruments including piano, clarinet, saxophone and flute. She loved playing the organ for the residents at Salem Lutheran Homes and Rehabilitation in Elk Horn, Iowa.
On Friday, March 10, 2023, Tammy passed away at her home having attained the age of 62 years and 2 days. She as preceded in death by her stepmothers Patricia Mueller and Phyllis Mueller; 2 grandchildren: Nova Watson and Leonardo De Garcia.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Marcus Watson (Laura Kemmish) of Shelby, Iowa; Mandy (Ricardo) De Garcia of Omaha, Nebraska; 2 grandchildren: Nash Watson and Adrian De Gracia; father Clyde Mueller of Wapello, Iowa; significant other Michael Bentzen of Harlan, Iowa; siblings Terry (Lynn) Mueller of Malvern, Iowa; Wayne (Susan) Mueller of Eldora, Iowa; Teresa Mueller of Iowa City, Iowa; nieces and nephews, other family and many friends.
