Aaron Israel Widrowicz

Aaron Israel Widrowicz, son of Susman and Leja (Koslow) Widrowicz, was born on August 22, 1952 in Sioux City, Iowa. He was the first of his family to be born in the United States. His parents were Holocaust survivors from Poland. He was raised in Sioux City, Iowa where he earned his high school diploma.
Aaron met Dixie Eckles in 1981, and in 1984 Dixie and Aaron moved to Lafayette, Louisiana, where Aaron started his sales career. Aaron and Dixie were married in 1985, and moved back to Iowa five years later, where he continued to sell cars in Omaha and Council Bluffs until he became disabled. Two children were born to this marriage, Matthew Samuel and Noah Israel. Aaron and Dixie divorced in 1996, but remained friends.
After returning to Sioux City for a few years, in 2006, Aaron made his home in Atlantic so he could be closer to his boys. They enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, camping, and having campfires. In 2008, Aaron had a massive stroke and has lived in a nursing home since. Every week, either Matthew or Noah would bring Aaron back to their home to spend time with him. For the past 6 months, Aaron found pride and joy in being a grandfather to Tyson Matthew.
Aaron passed away in the nursing home on September 14, 2018, having attained the age of sixty-six. He was preceded in death by his parents Susman and Leja Widrowicz; his son Matthew; and his brother David Widrowicz.
Left to cherish his memory are his son Noah (Allison) Widrowicz of Atlantic, Iowa; grandson Tyson Matthew Widrowicz of Atlantic, Iowa; brother Allen (Mary Pat) Widrowicz of Sioux City, Iowa; many nieces, nephews and friends.
