Alice Illena, daughter of Carl and Bertha (Wingrove) McDonald, was born February 21, 1934, at Dow City, Iowa. She attended school in Dow City, graduating from Dow City High School in 1952. Following her graduation, Alice worked in Omaha for four years.
On September 10, 1956, Alice was united in marriage with Raymond Edward Boeck in Council Bluffs. They were the parents of two daughters. Alice and Ray lived on a farm near Dow City for a short time then made their home in Manilla. Alice worked at the newspaper office, clothing store, and kept books for the Chevy garage, all in Manilla. After her husband started his own excavation/heavy equipment business, she kept books for him. Alice was a homemaker and enjoyed caring for her home; reading; gardening, and her flowers. She also enjoyed attending NASCAR and stock car races and going on vacations with her family. Her family and all their activities were very important to Alice.
Alice was a member of the United Church of Manilla and the American Legion Auxiliary.
As of May 2010, she is preceded in death by her parents.
Alice is survived by her husband; two daughters Mary Lou and husband James Lueth of Manilla and Michelle Rae “Shelley” and husband Allen Foster of Manilla; eight grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
