Alice Ann Kwapiszeski was born January 21, 1921, to Henry and Mary Schmitz in Westphalia, Iowa. She died September 16, 2022 at Josie Harper Hospice in Omaha, Nebraska having reached the age of 101 years, eight months, and 16 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mary Schmitz; husband, Edward Kwapiszeski; granddaughter, Jennifer Kwapiszeski; and son-in-law, Gary Anderson, Sr. Also preceding her in death were her sisters, Stella (Isadore) Wingert; Lillian (Martin) Blum; Laura Schmitz; Eileen (Stan) Schrader; and Mary Jane Schmitz, and her brothers, Virgil (Mary) Schmitz and Leroy Schmitz. She is survived by her sister Naomi (the late Marcus) Gross, and four children, Jeanne Anderson of Omaha, Nebraska; Tom (Becky) Kwapiszeski of Yukon, Oklahoma; Peggy (Bill) Kolm of Omaha, Nebraska; and Jerry (Sharon) Kwapiszeski of Mustang, Oklahoma. Also surviving are six grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Alice enjoyed traveling. She enjoyed playing the penny slots in Las Vegas and touring the East Coast, especially Philadelphia, North Carolina, New Jersey, Florida, and Washington D.C. Her most exciting adventure was parasailing in Hawaii at the age of 95. Her trip to the Grand Canyon was fun and her cruise to the Bahamas was a true joy. Alice also enjoyed playing cards and telling wonderful stories of her life growing up in Westphalia. She was an adventurous soul and will be missed by those who loved her.
Family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude's Hospital.
