FUNERAL SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church, Denison, IowaVISITATION: From 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2015 at Pfannebecker Funeral Home, Denison, IowaBURIAL: Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Denison, Iowa Ann Norene Lorenzen was born on March 10, 1952 to John and Ruby (Denker) Lorenzen in Denison, Iowa.  She was received into God’s Kingdom of Grace through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism April 20, 1952 at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison and confirmed in her Christian Faith there April 3, 1966.  She attended Zion Lutheran School and then Denison Community High School, graduating in 1970. After receiving an R.N. degree from the Lutheran Medical Center School of Nursing in St. Louis, Missouri in 1973, she began working at Lutheran Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.  She eventually acquired expertise in infection control to which she devoted over 34 years of her career, mostly at St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha.When not busy with work or caregiver-related activities, she enjoyed cross stitching, sewing, shopping for sales, dining out, gardening and traveling.  As a supporter of the local arts, she attended many concerts, symphonies and theater productions.  She loved spending time with friends and family, especially being a part of the lives of her nieces and nephews. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. Ann died Monday evening, April 6, 2015 at the Josie Harper Residence Hospice House in Omaha, Nebraska.  At the time of her death she had been blessed with 63 years and 26 days. Ann was preceded in death by her father John T. Lorenzen. Grateful for having been a part of her life are her mother, Ruby Lorenzen of Denison, Iowa; brother Kim and wife Debbie of Mitchell, South Dakota; brother James and wife Mary of Rowley, Massachusetts, nieces and nephews: Melanie, Joshua, Angie and Collin, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church, Denison, Iowa, with Rev. Kurt R. Kaiser and Rev. David M. Sewing officiating. Burial was at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Denison, Iowa. Music for the service included soloists: Kim Lorenzen singing “On Eagle’s Wings” and Angie Lorenzen singing “Quietly, Peacefully” and a congregational hymn of “I Know That My Redeemer Lives” with Karen Kahl serving as pianist and organist. Pallbearers for the service were Joshua Lorenzen, Eric Oldenkamp, Tom Hartigan, Dale Schneider, Tom Denker, and Marc Gosch. Following the interment the family invited everyone to the church for fellowship and a luncheon catered by Hy-Vee and served by Zion Evening Guild. The Pfannebecker Funeral Home, www.pfannebecker.com , Denison, Iowa, was in charge of arrangements where friends called from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2015.
