Anna Henrietta Lackman was born on a farm in Goodrich Township, rural Denison, Iowa, January 30, 1926, the daughter of William and Maria Noelck Thies. She was received into God’s Kingdom of Grace through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison March 14, 1926, and confirmed in her Christian Faith there April 16, 1941. Reared on the farm, Anna received her formal education in the rural schools in Goodrich and Milford Townships. On September 30, 1945, Anna was united in marriage with Marvin Henry Lackman at Zion Lutheran Church, Denison, Iowa. Their union was blessed with five children. They made their home on a farm northwest of Denison until 1948 when they moved to their farm in East Boyer Township where they farmed for 45 years. In 1993 they retired from farming and moved to their new home in Denison. Anna’s married life was spent as a busy homemaker and farmwife lovingly caring for her family. Marvin died September 23, 2002, and Anna continued to reside at her home in Denison until moving to Eventide in January of 2008. Anna was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, Zion Ladies Aid where she served as president for two years and was their birthday treasurer for two years, and since 1951, was a member of the SNAP Neighborhood Club. In her leisure time she enjoyed spending time with family, quilting, crocheting, card playing and trips to the casino. Anna died Saturday morning, December 27, 2014, at Eventide Lutheran Home, Denison, Iowa, where she had been given loving care for the last 7 years. At the time of her death she had been blessed with 88 years, 10 months and 27 days. She will be remembered by family and friends for her smile, sunny disposition and positive outlook on life. Anna was preceded in death by her parents: William and Maria Thies, her husband Marvin Lackman, four children: Ralph, Richard, Marilyn and Sally Lackman; one brother: Walter Thies and three sisters: Ella Thies, Emma Vetter and Edna Sampson. Those remaining to cherish her memory include one daughter: Janice and husband Ronald Regn of Melbourne, Florida; two grandchildren: Farah and husband John Sivolella of Satellite Beach, Florida, and Shaun Mirza of Cocoa Beach, Florida; one great-grandson: Nicholas Sivolella of Satellite Beach, Florida; one sister: Bertha Neumann of Denison, Iowa, other relatives and friends.Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at Zion Lutheran Church, Denison, Iowa, with the Rev. Kurt R. Kaiser and the Rev. David M. Sewing officiating. Music for the service included congregational hymns of “Just As I Am Without One Plea”, “What A Friend We Have In Jesus” and “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God” with Karen Kahl serving as organist. Those serving as pallbearers included Ron Regn, Shaun Mirza, John Sivolella, Nicholas Sivolella, James Leinen, Roger Dozark and Roger Kruse. Interment was at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Denison. Following the interment all were invited to return to the church and join the family for fellowship and a luncheon prepared and served by Zion Ladies Aid. The Pfannebecker Funeral Home,
