Annie E. Valline was received into the arms of her heavenly family on Friday, May 19, 2017. Annie was born in Dubuque, Iowa, on November 7, 1961. Annie attended school in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and graduated from Cedar Rapids Washington High School. Annie continued her education in the professional field she enjoyed the most, taking care of others, and received professional certifications in the fields of Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, X-Ray Technician and Arbitration/Mediation. Annie met her future husband, Todd Valline, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1981. Annie and Todd were married at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Nevada, Iowa in 1982 and started their family there.
Annie’s creative pursuits included decorating and designing. Shabby Chic was the design style of choice for Annie and she cherished the time she spent searching through a wide variety of donation centers and garage sales to find the items she would refurbish into creative “treasures” for herself and others. Her creative pursuits led her to open her own business - Po’ Folks Creations - while she lived in Elko, Nevada.
Annie is survived by her husband of 35 years, Todd Valline of Harlan, Iowa; children, Talia Valline of Chagrin Falls, Ohio and Jacob Valline of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren Ayden and Kail; Mother Barbara McCune of Sun City, Arizona; sister Carrie (Steve) Nebel of Peoria, Arizona; and a host of extended family and friends. Annie was preceded in death by her father William McCune and her brother, Michael.
In keeping with her wishes, Annie has been cremated and a private family service will be held later in a place full of childhood memories that was very near and dear to her.
