Ardell L. Ewoldt

Ardell Lorraine Ewoldt was born May 25, 1940, the daughter of Edward and Hertha (Thomsen) Evers. Ardell was born in Denison, Iowa. She was baptized in faith on March 25, 1956 at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, by Rev. Schmidt. She received her elementary education in country school and graduated in 1959.
On November 13, 1971, Ardell married Henry Ewoldt at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. The couple was blessed with two sons: Mark Ewoldt and Dale Ewoldt, grandson Evan Ewoldt, also special friend Carlee.
Ardell was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and loved spending time with her family. She enjoying eating out with her family and friends. She also enjoyed playing cards, putting puzzles together, coloring and reading through cookbooks.
Before her married life, Ardell worked at Harker’s, W& J Café, the Senior Center, Hillside Grill, Farmer’s Café at Denison Livestock. While working at Harker’s after high school, she loved to dress up for Cat and Dog Days. She won many best costume prizes and her picture always made the Denison Paper.
Ardell died on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa, attaining the age of eighty years, ten months, and five days. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Henry in 2011, siblings Mardella Ann Evers, Derald Evers, Darlene Vogt, niece Sharon Evers, brothers-in-law Ralph Vogt and Alfred Schoenfeld.
She is survived by her sons Mark Ewoldt of Dow City, Iowa; Dale Ewoldt and special friend Carlee Lee and her daughters Payton and Caytlin Lee of Denison, Iowa; special grandson Evan Ewoldtof Dow City, Iowa; sister Norma Schoenfeld of Schleswig, Iowa; sister-in-law Pat Evers of Pocahontas, Iowa; brother-in-law Rev. Virgil Ewoldt and his wife Bonnie of Milford, Iowa; many other relatives and friends.
