Arlene Ruth Brummel

Arlene Ruth Brummel, the daughter of Edward and Tena Aden, was born April 18, 1939, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Arlene attended Pomeroy School, graduating with the class of 1957.
In 1957, Arlene was united in marriage to Denzil Nelson. To this union were born 2 sons, Jeffrey and Bradley. During this time Arlene worked as a bank teller for First National Bank in Denison, Iowa.
In 1978 Arlene was united in marriage to Harold Brummel. To this union joined Harold’s children GayLynne, Donna, Ron, and Robert. Arlene resided in Fort Collins, Colorado and then Dallas, Texas. After retiring she returned to Denison, Iowa to be closer to her two sons.
Arlene was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church in Denison, where she loved to volunteer. She also loved to knit.
Arlene passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at the Denison Care Center, attaining the age of 84 years, 1 month, and 3 days.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, parents Edward and Tena Aden, siblings Glen Aden, Berniece Brager, Leona Greenley, Robert Aden, and an infant daughter Leah Marie Nelson.
Left to cherish her memory are her two sons Jeff Nelson of Schleswig, IA; Brad Nelson of Denison, IA; step - children GayLynne Roon of Loveland, CO; Donna Pfretzschner of Palisade, CO; Ron Brummel of Denver, CO; Robert Brummel of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren Christopher Nelson (Annie Hauge) of Indianola, IA; Katelyn (Eric) Griffith of Moline, IL; Spencer (Annelise) Nelson of Reno, NV; Hayley Nelson of Reno, NV and great grandchild Lincoln Nelson.
