Barbara J. Plambeck

Barbara Jean Plambeck was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on October 21, 1947 to Arthur and Delores (Hansen) Stevens. Barb attended various schools in the Minneapolis area. She was a member of the Everett McClay VFW Highlander Drill Team performing in many parades and competitions.
While growing up, Barb and her sisters Wanda and Carol sang and harmonized together. Their dad would take them on car rides on Sunday with the girls singing the entire time. The three girls were always responsible for cleaning the house on Saturdays giving the dirtiest jobs to Carol for being their dads "favorite". Their reward for doing a good job was a jar of pickles which remained Barbs favorite food. Barb was given the nickname "Cookie" by her favorite uncle, Bob.
Barb met her husband William "Bill" Plambeck in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1967. They married on January 16, 1969 in Agana, Guam. They lived in Guam until 1972, when they moved back to Bill's hometown of Persia, Iowa. Barb had many loves in her life, her husband Bill, three children John Michael, Tanya Mari, and Stacy Lynn, grandkids Austin, Jake, Noah, Ryan (boo), Abbie, Maggie (sweet pea), Evan (Meister), great grandchild Payton and Brecken (lil' Bid). She loved camping, reading, singing, dancing, quilting, watching Monk and Hallmark movies. She loved going to California in the winter and traveling with her husband.
Barb was a school bus driver for Tri-Center Schools for 20 years. At the end of the school year, she would take the kids to Dans Delight for ice cream. She's still remembered as the "Best Bus Driver" by many. Barb died on Sunday, September 5, 2021 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa, attaining the age of seventy-three years, ten months, and fifteen days. She leaves behind husband Bill "Bid" Plambeck of Persia, Iowa; daughters Tanya Plambeck and Stacy Thomas both of Neola, Iowa; grandchildren Austin, Noah, Ryan, Abbie, Jake, Maggie, and Evan; great
grandchildren Payton and Brecken; sisters Wanda (Rodger) Larson of Carver, Minnesota; Kathy (Mark) Stevens of Persia, Iowa; Denise (Mike) Wilson of Ankeny, Iowa; Mari (Craig) Olson of Rosemount, Minnesota; brothers and sisters-in law; nieces and nephews; other family members and friends.
Barb is in heaven singing and dancing with her son Johnny, mother Delores, father Arthur, sister Carol, brothers Craig, Curt, and Danny, and her dog Molly Blue.
