Elizabeth Ann Specht, daughter of Anton and Elizabeth (Bock) Kloewer, was born February 21, 1942 in Rural Harlan, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Westphalia, Iowa. She attended and graduated from St. Boniface Catholic School in Westphalia.
Betty was married to Ronald Specht and blessed with two children Kelly and Sherrie. They later divorced. Betty worked as a New Holland Type Setter until retiring in 1998.
Betty loved people, socializing and volunteering, she also enjoyed playing bingo at Little Flower Haven with the residents. She was always lending a hand to help out. She also enjoyed going out to eat and reading.
Betty died on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Elm Crest Retirement Community in Harlan, Iowa, attaining the age of seventy-seven years, one month and fourteen days. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children Kelly Specht and Sherrie Miller, siblings Norbert Kloewer, Agnes Janulewicz, Walter Kloewer, Bernice Rueschenberg, and Viola Kloewer.
She is survived by her grandson Tristan Specht of East Earl, Pennsylvania; brother Leo “Spike” Kloewer and his wife Alice of Harlan, Iowa; sister Leona “Jonsey” Klein of Westphalia, Iowa; brother-in-law Stanley Janulewicz of Omaha, Nebraska; many nieces and nephews and friends.
