Beverly Knudtson
December 26, 1949 — January 11, 2022
Beverly Ellen (Wendt) Knudtson was born on December 26, 1949, in Harlan, Iowa, to Clarence Sr. And Leta (Schuning) Wendt. She grew up in Avoca and graduated with the class of 1968. She was baptized and confirmed at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Avoca, Iowa. After graduation, she attended Iowa Western Community College and received her LPN degree.
On November 7, 1970, she was united in marriage to Jerry Hansen to this union they welcomed daughter Shalee. Jerry and Bev divorced, and she later married Walter Knudtson.
Bev was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Avoca Specialty most of her life. If she wasn’t working, she loved to fish, travel and collect rocks. She was President of the Avoca Auxiliary Legion. Being with her family brought her the most joy and happiness. In the summer you could find her in her garden. Her and her sisters were frequent visitors at the casinos and given her birthday was the day after Christmas, she was obsessed with the holiday!
On Tuesday, January 11, 2022, Bev passed away having attained the age of seventy-two years and sixteen days. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Walter; siblings Willis, Eugene, Inez, Marjorie, Clarence Jr., Robert and Janice; brothers-in-law Sam Simpson, Merlin Peterson, Byron Martin, and Donald Wilds; sisters-in-law Barbara Wendt, Jeanette Wendt and Helen Wendt.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Shalee Hansen of Council Bluffs, Iowa; step-grandchildren Josie Cable of Walnut, Iowa; Drew Cable of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Matthew Weihs of Walnut, Iowa; 1 step-great grandson Daxen Cable of Council Bluffs, Iowa; sisters Marlene Peterson of Broomsfield, Colorado; Lois (Dennis) Jacobsen of Hancock, Iowa; sister-in-law Joretta Wendt of Atlantic, Iowa; other family and many friends.
