Bobette Rose Voggesser

Bobette "Bobbie" Rose Voggesser, daughter of Robert Marion and Ruby Elizabeth Clark Hagood, was born on May 23, 1929 in Oakland, Iowa. "Bobbie" was baptized at the Sharon Church in Oakland and attended school in Oakland where she graduated from Oakland High School. After high school, "Bobbie worked as a secretary at the Don Epperly Insurance Company and Jones, Cambridge and Carl Law Firm, both in Atlantic, Iowa.
On April 30, 1949, "Bobbie" was united in marriage to Paul Mathias Voggesser at the Little Brown Church in the Vale. Five children were born to this union: James Robert, Gary Lee, Lu Anne, Lisa Lyn and Christopher Paul.
In 1949, she became a full time mother and housewife. She was dedicated to her children and her primary focus was on home and family - in her words "My whole life was my kids, grandkids and great-grandkids." The love she had for her husband was represented in all she did for her children and the support she gave Paul on the farm.
Bobbie enjoyed gardening, sewing, oil painting, knitting and crocheting. She also found time to volunteer through the community church and school organizations.
Bobbie died at Cass County Memorial Hospital Home Care/Hospice in Atlantic, Iowa on December 29, 2010 having attained the age of eight-one years, seven months and six days. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son James Robert Voggesser.
She is survived by her husband Paul Mathais Voggesser of Hancock, Iowa; her children: Gary Lee Voggesser of Minneaplis, Minnesota; Lu Anne and her husband Jim Nielsen of Granger, Iowa, Lisa Lyn and her husband Dean Hanson of Brooklyn New York and Christopher Paul Voggesser and his wife Sarah of West Des Moines, Iowa; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, and daughter-in-law Mary Voggesser of Loveland, Colorado; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
Pastor David Krueger officiated the 10:30 A.M. funeral service at Peace United Church of Christ in Walnut, Iowa on Tuesday, January 4, 2011. Honorary casket bearers were Corey Voggesser, Garrit Voggesser, Tyler Voggesser, Tobin Voggesser, Jerod Hockensmith and Zachary Hascall. Interment was held in Oak Hill Cemetery in Hancock, Iowa with Ryan Voggesser, Andrew Voggesser, Timea Voggesser, Jackie Carter, Adrienne Wells, Dristen Wells, Amanda Pyburn, Ashlee Hanson, Malcolm Hanson, Gracyn Voggesser, Kellan Voggesser, Hudson Voggesser, Emerson Voggesser, Addison Voggesser and Elijah Pyburn serving as casket bearers.
