Bonnie Armentrout Larsen was born on July 11, 1918 to Moody and Mable Nelson in Harlan, Iowa. Bonnie attended grade school in Tennant, Iowa and then attended Harlan High School.
Bonnie was married to Russell Armentrout in Harlan in 1941 at the Bethel Baptist Church, then married Bill Larsen in 1961 in Las Vegas Nevada. Russell and Bonnie’s first born was their son Roger, who passed away at 6 weeks old in 1942. Their son Randall was born January 10, 1943. Russell was killed in action in 1944 . He was in the US 1st Calvary in Los Negros Island off of New Guinea.
Bonnie worked at the Clerk of Court office in Harlan until 1957, when she moved to Hayward, California. She then met Bill. Bill and Bonnie spent all their weekends on their boat. They joined the San Joaquin Yacht Club. They won several 1st place trophies for boat races.
Bonnie worked while in Hayward for approximately 30 years for the Hayward Water Department. She did administrative office work. Bonnie retired in 1993 and came back to Harlan.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands Russell Armentrout and William Larsen; infant son Roger; and siblings Jerome Nelson, Robert Nelson, Jackie Warrior and Richard Nelson. Bonnie passed away January 11, 2022 in Harlan, Iowa.
Bonnie is survived by her son Randall (Mary) Armentrout of Harlan; granddaughters, Julie Armentrout of Harlan and Jill (Jerry) Brown of Parker, Colorado; 2 great grandchildren Jacob and Alana Brown.
