Bruce Edwin Arp, was born on December 24, 1962, in Harlan, Iowa, to Edwin and Darlene (Troll) Arp, Bruce epitomized kindness, a quality that made everyone feel welcome in his presence. Baptized and confirmed at the Shelby Lutheran Church in Shelby, Bruce remained a man of faith and uplifted those around him. Those close to him will remember not just his talents but the warmth he brought into their lives, as well as his infectious laugh and smile.
A proud alumnus of Shelby Tennant Community High School Class of 1981, Bruce furthered his education at Iowa Western Community College, Iowa State University, and the University of Northern Iowa. Throughout his career, he contributed his skills to numerous Beef and Pork Plants, REM, and Concerned Inc where he loved caring for each and every one of the residents. but his influence reached far beyond his professional endeavors.
As a passionate music DJ with his son, Bruce delighted many with his musical talents, infusing joy into gatherings and celebrations. His love for Christmas and woodworking showcased his creativity and gave him an avenue to connect with friends and family through beautifully crafted pieces. He was a diehard Kansas City Chiefs and St Louis Cardinals fan, and enjoyed watching them any chance he could.
Bruce left this world unexpectedly on March 10, 2025, at his home in Avoca, Iowa, surrounded by his loving family, having attained the age of 62 years, 2 months and 14 days. Bruce leaves behind his life partner, Julie Wade of Avoca, Iowa; his son, Anthony Wade, and daughter-in-law, Jessi, of Harlan, Iowa; and his beloved grandson, Nick Gubbels, who brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his sisters, Debra Grant of Millard, Nebraska and Sharon Weis and husband Terry of Treynor, Iowa, brother-in-law Dennis Bladt of Avoca, Iowa; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He joins in eternal rest his mother Darlene (Troll) Arp, father Edwin Arp, and brother-in-law Roger Grant, as well as his mother and father in law Willis and Norma and sister in law Sharon Bladt. The memories of Bruce will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, a legacy defined by compassion, creativity, and the love that he so freely shared.
