Carol Doris Gubbels was born on January 26, 1947 to Leonard and Alice (Buschkamp) Bruck in Harlan, Iowa. She attended country school in Portsmouth and then graduated from Woodbine High School in 1965. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church for over 40 years.
On August 7, 1965 Carol was united in marriage to Raymond Gubbels in Portsmouth, Iowa. To this union three sons were born: Lenny, Jeff and Tim.
On Monday, November 8, 2021, Carol passed away at her home having attained the age of seventy-four years, nine months and thirteen days. She was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Alice; husband Raymond; siblings Dennis and Albert.
Left to cherish her earth side are her loving sons Lenny Gubbels of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Jeff Gubbels of Treynor, Iowa; Tim (Maria) Gubbels of Avoca, Iowa; 12 grandchildren: Kelsi, Kyle, Andie, Justin, Vanessa, Miguel, Ethan, Andrew, Alondra, Hayden, Junior and Timothy Jr.; 2 great grandchildren: Emma and Spencer; siblings Connie Leinen of Persia, Iowa; Roger (Elaine) Bruck of Persia, Iowa; Raymond (Teresa) Bruck of Persia, Iowa; Ruth (Richard) Trede of Underwood, Iowa; Donna (Ron) Reed of Neola, Iowa; Dianne (Marlin) Lustgraaf of Missouri Valley, Iowa; Laura (David) Leonard of Persia, Iowa; Lila Bruck of Vail, Iowa; other family and many, many friends.
