Carol E. Schimerowski
December 28, 1940 — January 21, 2015
Carol Estella Schimerowski was born on December 28, 1940 to Lavern and Beulah (Bonham) Feser in Defiance, Iowa. She was baptized in Missouri Valley and confirmed in Buck Grove. She attended elementary school in Missouri Valley. After moving to their farm home by Buck Grove, she attended country school at Washington No. 7, eventually going to Manilla and graduating with the Class of 1959.
On July 1, 1961, she was united in marriage to Larry Schimerowski at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Earling. They just celebrated their fifty-four year anniversary. Their union was blessed with five children: Tim, Nancy, Danny, Kevin, and Scott. Carol and Larry lived in Omaha after their marriage, eventually moving back to Earling and living in rental homes before building their home in 1969.
They purchased and ran the Earling Tap for thirty-three years. In addition, Carol was a homemaker and excellent cook and baker. She loved taking care of her family. She liked doing crafts and watching her hummingbirds. Her love for her two poodles was immense. She babied them and spoiled them every day.
Carol died on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at the Creighton Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, having attained the age of seventy-four years and twenty-four days. She was preceded in death by her infant son Danny, her parents Lavern and Beulah Feser, brothers Dwayne, Lyle, and Brian Feser, sister-in-law Jan Feser, and mother and father-in-law Lena and Stanley Schimerowski.
She is survived by her husband Larry Schimerowski of Earling, Iowa; children: Tim Schimerowski and his wife Ivy of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Nancy and her husband Mark Hegi of Columbus, Nebraska, Kevin Schimerowski of Odebolt, Iowa, and Scott Schimerowski of Earling, Iowa; two grandsons: Nathan Schimerowski and Seth Levos; sisters Linda and her husband Jim Duncan of Manilla, Iowa and Deanna and her husband Larry Stessman of Defiance, Iowa; sister-in-law Mary Lou Schimerowski of Earling, Iowa; other family members and many friends.
