Carol Frances Young

Carol Frances Young was born on December 5, 1936 in Avoca, Iowa to Albert and Lisle (Harris) Russmann. She was baptized and confirmed at the German Lutheran Church in Avoca. She attended Country School at Pleasant Ridge No. 6 and was taught by her sister Bonnie. She then attended Avoca Community School through 10th grade and graduated from Walnut Community School with the class of 1954.
On March 31, 1957, Carol was united in marriage to Robert Lawson Hobus in Avoca. To this union five children were born. Bob passed away on February 13, 1975. After Bob’s death, Carol married Clayton Young on December 5, 1976. To this union they had one child together and Carol gained two step-sons.
Carol passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Avoca Specialty in Avoca, Iowa having attained the age of eighty-four years, four months and sixteen days. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Andrea Hobus in 1969; brothers Richard and Gary Russmann; husbands Robert Hobus and Clayton Young.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Phil Hobus of Avoca, Iowa; Sharyn (Phil) Zimmerman of Earling, Iowa; Roger (Peggy) Hobus of Avoca, Iowa; Colleen (Ron) Taylor of Montezuma, Iowa; Brian (Alina) Young of Maryland Heights, Missouri; Larry (Carmen) Young of Kissimmee, Florida; Ronald (Teresa) Young of Monroe, Iowa; 18 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; siblings Bonnie Willett of Avoca, Iowa; Norma Herrell of Orange, California; Shirley Thies of Avoca, Iowa; Marjorie Kobs of Walnut, Iowa; sister-in-law Jane Russmann of Avoca, Iowa.
