Charles “Charlie” Edward Wyatt was born on January 15, 1954 in Kansas, the son of Glen and Evelyn Wyatt. He moved to Lincoln, Nebraska a few years later before settling in Bellevue, Nebraska in 1960 and ultimately moving to Walnut, Iowa around 2006. Charlie joined the US Army during the Vietnam War, serving from 1973 until 1975 as a heavy truck operator.
Charlie loved to garden and enjoyed making salsa, horseradish and spaghetti sauces. He was famous for his apple pie from a recipe he had memorized. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Walnut.
For a simple guy, Charlie was complicated. He had a huge heart and was very giving because he had experienced times of need. He believed in returning charity and life was best for Charlie when he was focused on others instead of himself. He was very close to his parents during his entire life. Charlie was also a dedicated blood donor.
He never met a person who could not be his friend. He enjoyed telling countless stories for hours on end. A cowboy at heart, Charlie loved his horses and dogs.
Death came to Charlie on December 5, 2016 at his residence having attained the age of sixty two years, ten months and twenty days.
Charlie is survived by his parents, Glen and Evelyn Wyatt of Bellevue, Nebraska; sisters, Vicki Smith of Bellevue, Nebraska, Glenda and her husband, Jerry Mullen of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Debra and her husband, John O’Brien of Papillion, Nebraska and Sheri Wyatt of Lincoln, Nebraska; numerous nieces and nephews; his dogs Squeaker and Jenna; and many friends.
