GRAVESIDE MEMORIAL SERVICES: 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2014 at Orange Township Cemetery, Coon Rapids, IowaNO VISITATION Cheryl Larae Heater was born at Coon Rapids, Iowa, May 30, 1944, the daughter of Claude and Edith Schaffers Heater. She made her home there until age 8 when she was admitted to the Woodward State Hospital where she resided from 1952 until 1974. She then made her home at Handicap Village in Clear Lake and Sheldon, Iowa, and New Hope Village in Carroll, Iowa. In 1979, she moved to the Glenwood State Hospital where she resided until moving to Parkview in Sioux City, Iowa, in 1987. In 1990 Cheryl moved to Wesco in Denison where she lived until moving to the Denison Care Center in 2011 where she had since resided. She enjoyed watching television and painting ceramics.Cheryl died Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. At the time of her death she had been blessed with 69 years, 9 months and 13 days.Including her parents, Cheryl was also preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and William Heater, half-brother, Chuck Whalley, three sisters: Marcella Korwes, Barbara Lappe and Colleen Hertel and one half-sister, Winona Mucuen.Those remaining to cherish her memory include nieces and nephews. Graveside Memorial Services and inurnment were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 17, 2014, at the Orange Township Cemetery near Coon Rapids, Iowa, with Father Andrew Hoffmann officiating.The Pfannebecker Funeral Home,
