Christian Highland Nichols, son of Jason and Shari (Bruck) Nichols, was born on August 12, 2015 in Clinton, Iowa. He was born with cerebral palsy caused by a rare x-linked genetic disorder called Allan-Herndon-Dudley Syndrome(AHDS)-MCT8. From day one, not only was he winning over the hearts of his parents, but everyone he came across. He loved his food and enjoyed almost everything he tried. Melted ice cream and chocolate became his favorites.
Christian was always paying attention to everyone and everything around him. And when he found something funny, his contagious belly laughs and giggles could lighten any room. He loved all his dogs, cats, and sissy and loved any time they cuddled with them. He was a smart little boy, and was figuring out his talker to share his joys and especially to share his sense of humor.
Christian died on Monday, October 24, 2022 at his home in Harlan, Iowa attaining the age of seven years, two months, and twelve days. He’s now running, jumping, singing songs, telling jokes, and going on combine and tractor rides with his maternal grandpa Walter Bruck and paternal great grandpa Joe Howard.
He is survived by his parents Jason and Shari Nichols and sister Faith all of Harlan; maternal grandma Cheryl Bruck of Dow City, Iowa; paternal grandparents Bonnie Nichols of Stafford, Virginia; Robert and Valerie Nichols of Jacksonville, North Carolina; paternal great grandparents Janelle Howard of Camanche, Iowa; Highland and Gerri Nichols of Clinton, Iowa; aunts and uncles; and lots and lots of cousins; caregivers; and friends.
Christian touched so many lives, he will be remembered for having the sweetest smile. He could show so much expression and love with a smile.
