Chris Madsen, son of Robert and Nancy (Alfers) Madsen was born on March 21, 1981 in Raleigh, North Carolina. He grew up in Persia, Iowa and attended school in Tri-Center.
On August 17, 2002, Chris was united in marriage to Roxanne (Harper) Madsen. To this union, two boys were born: Adam and Jared “JJ”. Chris and Roxanne were later divorced but kept a close relationship to raise their boys. Chris was also blessed with a beautiful daughter Makenna.
Chris loved to coach his sons basketball teams; he was very passionate about it. He loved to ride motorcycles, play pool and boating. He loved to laugh and make people laugh.
Chris worked full time as a DOT Highway Tech and also worked on the Volunteer Fire Department. He loved his job and was taking classes to further his education; as he wanted to be able to help in any type of emergency.
Chris died unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan, Iowa attaining the age of thirty-eight years and nineteen days. He was preceded in death by his mother Nancy Madsen and his brother from another mother JR Salmons and Carl “Scooter” Salmons.
He has left to cherish his memory, his children Adam Madsen of Avoca, Iowa; Jared “JJ” Madsen of Avoca, Iowa; Makenna Duncan of Council Bluffs, Iowa; father Robert Madsen and his wife Pamela of Lubbock, Texas; sister Pam Madsen and her significant other Chad Watson of Council Bluffs, Iowa; niece and nephew Rory and Cohen Watson of Council Bluffs, Iowa; maternal grandfather Bernard Alfers and his wife Karen Borrink of Council Bluffs, Iowa; brothers from another mother Todd Salmons of Avoca, Iowa; Justin Salmons of Glenwood, Iowa; other relatives and many friends.
