Cindy Kay Campbell – Hennessy was born in Ida Grove, IA on July 2nd, 1956, the daughter of Clarence and Lucille Streck. She was received into God’s kingdom of Grace being baptized on Aug. 26th, 1956, at Trinity in Grant township near Ida Grove.
Cindy was raised in Kiron, IA. She attended Denison High School where she graduated in 1974. During that time, she worked for her parents at Lucille’s Café and a Rec Center that were both ran out of the family home in Kiron.
Cindy moved to Odebolt where she was the manager of the local Casey’s gas station from 1978-1983. She was then blessed with four children while in Odebolt Justin, Jason, Josh, and Jeanine. God called upon the life of the twins (Justin and Jason) shortly after birth in 1983.
Cindy, Josh, and Jeanine moved to Carroll in 1993. Their loved dog Blazer was added to the family during this time. Cindy went on to further her education at DMACC in Carroll and Iowa State University earning her Bachelor of Science degree in 1998 the same year she lost her mother Lucille who she looked up to and loved immensely. Doing all of this while working full time and being a wonderful single mother. Cindy went on to work at Feld Fire Equipment in Carroll for 23 years from 1998 – 2021 when she retired.
In 2001 Cindy met the love of her life Pat Hennessy. They went on to get married in 2003 and lived the rest of her life with Pat by her side, helping her through everything until her last breath on July 1st,2023 at the Nebraska Medical Center with her family by her side.
Throughout Cindy’s life she loved spending time with her husband, kids, and grandkids. Especially around the holidays when she enjoyed crab legs and mashed potatoes. In the early years she enjoyed fishing with her kids. She loved her Chevy’s, particularly her brand-new black Tahoe. Cindy was always happy to drag Pat around to many craft and antique shows. She was also well known for making a list for about everything and worrying about almost everything on those lists. She loved being with her grandkids and being able to meet Thomas in her final days. Cindy as a wife, mom, and grandma will be greatly missed.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Lucille, her twin sons Justin and Jason Campbell.
Those who remain to cherish her memory include husband Pat Hennessy, son Josh (Kristen) Campbell, daughter Jeanine (Cody) Askvig, grandchildren Jason, Axel, and Thomas. Brother Dick (Jo) Streck, Ronnie (Evelyn) Streck, sister Elaine Turgeon, half brother Marvin (Eileen) Streck, Jim (Cheri) Streck, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
