Cole Jon Andersen

Cole Jon Andersen was born on September 29, 1969 to Donald R. and Jeanne L. (Sanderson) Andersen at the Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan, Iowa. He was baptized at the Calvary Baptist Church in Walnut, Iowa and was a member to the First Baptist Church in Harlan. He graduated from the Harlan Community High School with the class of 1988.
After graduation, Cole attended college at the University of South Dakota for a year playing tennis, he then went to Council Bluff, Iowa for a few years. He came back to Harlan where he opened Cole’s Car Cleaning for a number of years. He worked various places after closing his business, where he could still put his interest of automotive cleaning and parts knowledge to use.
Cole enjoyed the outdoors riding dirt bikes, four wheelers and motorcycles. He also loved spending time with his boxers and raising boxer puppies. One of the things Cole was most proud of though were his children, Katy, Alissa and Matt. They would go on road trips together, and Cole was always there to support them at sporting events.
Cole died at the Myrtue Medical Center after sustaining injuries from an accident on Saturday, July 9th, 2016 attaining the age of forty six years, nine months and ten days. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his children Katy Ponsar of Ottumwa, Iowa; Alissa Andersen of Irwin, Iowa; Matt Andersen of Harlan, Iowa; his brothers Wade Andersen and his wife Dawn of Ames, Iowa; Scott Andersen and his wife Beth of Ankeny, Iowa; Eric Andersen and his wife Jami of Harlan, Iowa; many nieces and nephews; other family members and friends.
