Dale F. Deren was born on August 3, 1920 in Rockford, Illinois, to Thomas and Dorothy (Burr) Freeman. She was united in marriage to Jerome T. Deren on March 17, 1942 in Lansing, Michigan and he preceded her in death on July 25, 1997.
She taught in the Crystal Lake Elementary School system and Special Education for many years. She was a member of the DAR.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jerome, sister Jane Hauser and brother Thomas Freeman, Jr.
Dale is survived by her daughter Dale R. Miller of Benton, Alaska; sons: Michael J. (Sandra) Deren of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, Patrick (Linda) Deren of Harlan, Iowa, Christopher Deren of Stuttgart, Alaska, Peter (Patty) Deren of Anchorage, Alaska; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law Nancy Deren of Gainesville, Florida.
Pastor Bob Kamps from the Como Community Church officiated the 12:00 PM funeral service on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the Steinke Funeral Home in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
