Dean Arthur Androy
Dean Arthur Androy, son of Herman T. and Audrey Rose (Nordaker) Androy, was born January 15, 1949 in Pisgah, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at Soldier Lutheran Church in Soldier, Iowa where he also attended grade school. He then attended East Monona Junior High School before graduating from Dunlap High School with the class of 1967.
After high school, Dean joined the United States Navy where he served his country honorable from 1969 to June 1978. Dean was united in marriage to Faye Kathleen Carroll on November 10, 1979 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Avoca, Iowa.
Dean began his railroad career with the C&NW Railroad and then Union Pacific where he worked from September of 1978 to July of 2010 when he retired. Faye and Dean loved to travel espcially to the Caribean. They loved dancing together and no matter where they were if "Brown Eyed Girl" came on, they had to dance. Faye would take him by the hand and say: "Get to gettin' Androy, we are dancing!" Dean was embraced by Faye's large family and he said he was only a stranger to the Carroll family for maybe an hour and that was it.
Dean died on February 13, 2015 at the Alegent Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa having attained the age of sixty-six years and twenty-nene days. In addition to his father, Dean was preceded in death by his wife Faye and his brother Denis.
He is survived by his mother Audrey Androy of Dunlap, Iowa; his daughters Tina Androy of Bellevue, Nebraska; Dena Mendez of Sioux City, Iowa and Candice Silveroli of California; his sisters Karen and her husband Ron Caldwell of Lohrville, Iowa and Carol and her husband Ron Holst of Dunlap, Iowa; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
