Deborah Kay Miller, daughter of Verne and Phyllis (Jacobs) Stendrup, was born on March 26, 1953, in Harlan, Iowa. She attended school at Walnut and Harlan and continued her education at Southwest Community College in Creston, Iowa, where she obtained an Associates Degree in Accounting.
On September 22, 1980, Deborah was united in marriage to Donald "Mike" Miller in Greeley, Colorado. One daughter, Laura, was born to this union, and joined Debbie�s two daughters, Jill and Amy. After their wedding, Deborah and Mike moved to Prescott, Iowa, where they made their current home.
Deborah worked for Bunn O-Matic Coffee Makers in the assembly line. She continued to work there until her retirement due to her illness. When Deborah wasn�t working, she enjoyed working around the house, being outdoors, spending time with her family, and attending area craft shows.
Deborah died on Friday, July 3, 2009 at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, having attained the age of fifty-six years, three months, and seven days. She is preceded in death by her parents and her step-father, Leon Burger.
She is survived by her husband Mike Miller of Prescott, Iowa; her children: Jill and her husband Rob Mackey of Moville, Iowa; Amy and her husband Craig Crilly of Harlan, Iowa; Laura Miller of Des Moines, Iowa; four grandchildren: Jordan Mackey, Jazmine, Jonah, and Jack Crilly; her brother Jerry Stendrup and his wife Debbie of Harlan; her brother-in-law David Miller and his wife Donita of Harlan; other family members and friends.
Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan, with Pastor Donna Ewert officiating the 10:00 AM service. Interment was held at the Harlan Cemetery in Harlan with Francis Schneider and Verna Mathis acting as honorary casket bearers. Serving as casket bearers were: Tim Burger, Doug Schneider, Jordan Mackey, Dan Schneider, Mary Grote and Kathy Anderson.
