DeLoris Hedstrom was born at Arion, Iowa, October 23, 1931, the daughter of Alva and Millie Anderson Davis. She was raised at Arion and received her elementary education there. During her high school years she made her home with an aunt and uncle in Grand Junction, Iowa, where she graduated from the Grand Junction High School with the class of 1949. Following high school she moved Denison and was employed at the Raun and Franck Law Firm. On December 5, 1952, DeLoris was united in marriage with Bueal Hedstrom at the First Baptist Church in Kiron. Their union was blessed with four children, Dawn, Alan, Paul and Ruth “Tootie”. They made their home in Kiron until 1957 when they moved to Denison where DeLoris was bookkeeper for the family business. In 2002 they moved to Ida Grove where she enjoyed her retirement years. In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with her family, roller skating in earlier years, sewing and watching basketball and baseball on television. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kiron. DeLoris died Wednesday morning, February 17, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa. At the time of her death she had been blessed with 78 years, 3 months and 24 days. Including her parents, Alva and Millie Davis, DeLoris was also preceded in death by one daughter: Ruth Ann “Tootie” Hedstrom; one great grandson: Tristan Lindberg; two brothers: James and Dewayne Davis; and one sister: Louise Gorman Smith. Those remaining to cherish her memory include her husband, Bueal Hedstrom of Ida Grove, Iowa, one daughter: Dawn and husband, Carl Ulshafer of Ida Grove, Iowa; two sons: Alan Hedstrom and Landa See of Schleswig, Iowa and Paul Hedstrom of Ida Grove, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; one sister: Donnella and husband, Howard Campbell of Missouri Valley, Iowa; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 21, 2010, at the First Baptist Church in Kiron, Iowa, with Pastor John Aiken officiating. Music for the service included Wanda Larson singing “Amazing Grace”, Deb Lindgren singing “Untitled Hymn” and the congregation singing “When We All Get To Heaven” with Mrs. John W. Larson serving as accompanist. Honorary pallbearers were DeLoris’ grandchildren: Shane and Rory Lindberg, Terri Beckley, Andria Siciliano, Dustin, Thea, Noah and Brock Hedstrom, Shelby See and Skylar, Austin, Lucas and Tanner Hedstrom. Pallbearers included Steve Leaders, David Davis, Michael Davis, Eric Davis, Mike Powley and Clayton Larson. Interment was at the Kiron Cemetery, Kiron, Iowa. Following the interment the family invited everyone to return to the church for fellowship and a luncheon prepared and served by the First Baptist Social Committee. The Pfannebecker Funeral Home,
