MEMORIAL SERVICES: 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2015 at Morningside Lutheran Church, Sioux CityVISITATION: From 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church GRAVESIDE SERVICES AND INURNMENT: 3:30 p.m. Monday, June 8, 2015 at Crawford Heights Memory Gardens, DenisonDiane Lucy DeKok, 68, passed away on May 19th, 2015 at a local nursing home following many years of multiple health issues. She was very peaceful at the time of her death surrounded by family. Services will be on Monday, June 8th, 2015 at 11:00 am at Morningside Lutheran Church. There will be visitation one hour prior to the services starting at 10:00 am with family present. Pastor Tom LoVan will be officiating the service. Burial will be following the service later in the afternoon at 3:30 pm at Crawford Heights Memory Gardens in Denison, IA. Diane was born on September 25, 1946 in Denison, Iowa, the daughter of Wernes P. and Anna (Kruthoff) Dethmann. Diane graduated from Denison High School in 1964. She attended the University of Iowa for a short time and then made her home in Sioux City, IA where she attended Iowa School of Beauty. She had her cosmetology license and practiced for a short time before she became an instructor at the Iowa School of Beauty. Diane later went to work for Sioux Tools in the computer department. She attended Briar Cliff College for several years as a part time student and received her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in 1990. Diane also worked for Mercy Medical Center in the MIS department, Coldwell Bankers selling real-estate and then went to the Woodbury County Court House where she worked in the Auditors Office. Diane loved her family. She loved going to the movies, plays, musicals and concerts before her health failed. She was a member of Morningside Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School when her daughter Amie, was younger and later years enjoyed singing in the Celebration Choir.Diane is survived by her daughter, Amie (Martin) Millard of Sioux City, IA; three grandchildren: Josie DeKok of Sioux City, IA, Mackenzie Millard of Omaha, NE and Peyton Millard of Alma, NE; sister-in-law, Wini (Bryan) Arneson of Sioux City, IA.She is preceded in death by her parents, Wernes P. and Anna (Kruthoff) Dethmann and brother, Paul Dethmann. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren: Josie, Mackenzie and Peyton.Services are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel, Sioux City, IA and Pfannebecker Funeral Home, Denison, IA.
