Dianne Ehlers
April 30, 1948 — March 8, 2023
Dianne was born April 30, 1948, to Delmon and Dorothy (Michaelsen) Jacobsen in Council Bluffs, Iowa and raised in Avoca, Iowa. She went to the last country school in Avoca before joining the Avoca High School and graduating in 1966.
Dianne met Larry Ehlers at a dance in the dance hall at the Avoca Fairgrounds in 1965 and has never left his side since. She even skipped school to play hookie for a day to spend with Larry. They married on December 3, 1966, and to this union they had 2 children: Tammy and Jason.
Dianne enjoyed working at several places, but her favorite place to be was being that left handed Green Farmer’s (Larry), right hand woman. From taking them from field to field, to making them hot fresh meals and those cold lunch meat sandwiches. She enjoyed being the Camp Host at Carstens Farms for 22 years. She had a huge love for crafting. She loved cross-stitching to diamond dots, to book trimming, to every craft you could imagine.
She was able to enjoy the time with her family. She had 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren that she adored so very much, and with that this is Dianne’s message to her family.
If hands can reach out in this world,
mine will always be in yours.
I couldn’t be provider of my two wonderful
children and the grandchildren to the great-grandchildren
they gave me to love and treasure with all my heart.

On Wednesday evening March 8, 2023, surrounded by her loving family, Dianne passed away having attained the age of 74 years, 10 months and 8 days. She was preceded in death by her parents Delmon and Dorothy and brother Darrell.
Left to cherish the wonderful memories are her husband of 56 years Larry Ehlers of Minden, Iowa; children Tammy (Mike) Eberl of Underwood, Iowa; Jason (Jennifer) Ehlers of Minden, Iowa; 4 grandchildren: Landon (Amanda) Eberl of Persia, Iowa; Jessica Eberl of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Austin (Allison) Ehlers of Persia, Iowa; Dominic Haynes of Minden, Iowa; Ashley (Andrew) Maresch of Omaha, Nebraska; Tiffany (Ben) Bukacek of Omaha, Nebraska; 9 great-grandchildren: Maxtyn and Madilynne Eberl of Persia, Iowa; Payton, Breckon and Bristol Ehlers of Persia, Iowa; Henry and William Maresch of Omaha, Nebraska; Harper and Vivi Bukacek of Omaha, Nebraska; other family and many, many friends.
