Donald L. Green was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, January 4, 1951, the son of Charles E. and Lillian Borgmann Green. He was received into God?s Kingdom of Grace through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism February 4, 1951 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge and confirmed in his Christian Faith there May 15, 1983. He was raised in Fort Dodge where he received his education. Following his schooling he was employed in Fort Dodge. On August 5, 1984, Donald was united in marriage with Deborah A. Boeck at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, Iowa. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Benjamin and Rebecca. They made their home in Denison where Don was employed with the City of Denison, IBP, Weltz Auction House, Dan?s Redemption Center and Highway 30 Redemption Center from which he retired due to failing health. In his spare time, Don enjoyed collecting cans, playing cards, and socializing with family and friends, and especially cherished time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. Don died surrounded by his family Sunday, June 8, 2008, at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. At the time of his death he had been blessed with 57 years, 5 months and 4 days. Don was preceded in death by his father, Charles E. Green and one sister, Edna Mae Main. Those remaining to cherish his memory include his wife, Deborah A. Green of Denison, Iowa, one son, Benjamin Green and wife, Ashley of Schleswig, Iowa, one daughter, Rebecca Green of Denison, two grandsons, Nathan and Elliott Green of Schleswig, Iowa, his mother, Lillian Green of Hampton, Iowa, one brother, Charles Green of Hampton, Iowa, two sisters, Jenny Dellinger of Hampton, Iowa, and Sandra and husband Larry Abrams of Fort Dodge, Iowa, his father-in-law, Virgil Boeck of Denison, Iowa brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dennis and Norma Boeck of Morrison, Illinois, Larry and Annette Boeck and Dwight and Carolyn Boeck of Denison, Iowa, Linda and Larry Matijevich of Polk City, Iowa, Lanah Boeck of Monroe, Washington, Terence Boeck of Schleswig, Iowa, Tom and Debi Boeck of Keokuk, Iowa, and Tim and Carolyn Boeck of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 13, 2008, at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison with the Rev. Kurt R. Kaiser and the Rev. David M. Sewing officiating. Music for the service was provided by Eldon Hardekopf singing "On Eagles Wings" and the congregation singing "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and "Amazing Grace" with Karen Kahl serving as organist. Honorary pallbearers included Jenny Dellinger, Charles Green, Sandra Abrams, Linda Matijevich and Lanah Boeck. Pallbearers were Dennis Boeck, Larry Boeck, Dwight Boeck, Terence Boeck, Tom Boeck and Tim Boeck. Interment was at Crawford Heights Memory Gardens in Denison. Following the services all were invited to return to the church and join the family in fellowship and a luncheon prepared and served by Zion Evening Guild.
