Donald Dean Holloway was born on March 27, 1958 to Junior and Dorothy (Juhl) Holloway in Harlan, Iowa. He attended Irwin-Kirkman Schools graduating with the Class of 1976. He continued his education at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, obtaining his bachelor’s degree in Business. He worked in the banking industry and real estate business for many years.
He was an avid sports fan, playing football all through high school and college. Don was a die-hard Iowa State Cyclone fan. He also spent some time refereeing high school basketball games which he thoroughly enjoyed.
In addition to playing pranks on his nieces and nephews, Don liked to play cards and raise tomato plants.
Don died on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at his home in Harlan, Iowa, having attained the age of fifty-six years, five months, and twenty-four days. He was preceded in death by his faithful companion Spook, his black lab.
He is survived by his parents, Junior and Dorothy Holloway of Harlan, Iowa; brothers: John Holloway and his wife Marsha of Kirkman, Iowa, Jerry Holloway of Indianola, Iowa, and Tim Holloway and his wife Jodine of Defiance, Iowa; six nieces and nephews: Chris Holloway and his wife Angie of Altoona, Iowa, Cory Holloway and his wife Angela of Des Moines, Iowa, Stacey and her husband Travis Goldsbury of Carlisle, Iowa, Amanda Holloway of Defiance, Iowa, Marcus Holloway of Ames, Iowa, and Alan Holloway of Defiance, Iowa; seven great-nieces and nephews; many other family members and friends.
