Donna Lee Taylor, daughter of Bill and Ruby Terrell (Stevens), was born January 22, 1946 in Omaha Nebraska. She grew up in Council Bluffs and moved to Harlan as a young girl and graduated from Harlan High School. Donna was a resident at Elm Crest Assisted Living in Harlan Iowa for the past 16 months.
She married Ron Taylor on January 14, 1972 in San Bernardino, California. They made their home in Harlan where Donna did bookkeeping for the family trucking business and later worked as a 911 dispatch operator for Shelby County and Pottawattamie County. She also worked for Skola in Council Bluffs as a satellite uplink operator. Donna was especially fond of animals with her small four legged friends always by her side. As a child she had a pet raccoon and later cherished her dogs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Forrest Hansen and brother, Gilbert Terrell. Survivors include her son, Dan Taylor, and daughter-in-law, Donna Jo Taylor, currently residing in Prague, Czech Republic and nephew, Bill Terrell, and sister-in-law Ruth Terrell of Oregon along with cousins Rose Petry and Ann Skokan of Council Bluffs.
Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan is in charge of the arrangements with graveside services to be held 10:30 AM, November 21st with burial in Jacksonville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to an animal shelter in her honor.
