Dorothy Ella Katherine Salmon, daughter of Fred and Emma (Spahn) Schramm, was born on October 26th, 1922 in Arthur, Iowa.
Dorothy was baptized November 26th, 1922 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ida Grove, Iowa. She was confirmed on March 21st, 1937 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ida Grove, Iowa. Dorothy graduated from the Arthur High School with the class of 1939.
On May 21st , 1942 Dorothy was united in marriage to Leroy Charles Salmon in Ida Grove, Iowa. To this union was born two daughters Sandra and Susan. Dorothy and Leroy made their home in Kiron, Iowa, where Dorothy not only was a homemaker but, worked for Salmon Food Center for over twenty years.
Dorothy was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kiron, Iowa. She was also a member of St. John’s Luther Church Ladies Aid and St. John’s Sewing Group. After Dorothy’s husband, Leroy’s death in 1998, she moved to Denison, Iowa.
Dorothy passed away Friday, September 2nd, 2022 attaining the age of 99 years, 10 months, and 7 days.
She is preceded in death by her parents Fred and Emma Schramm, her husband Leroy Salmon, a granddaughter Michelle Yankey, brother William Schramm, and sisters Pearl Stephan and Lois Wunschel.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Sandra (Louis) Luvaas, Susan (Steve) Blair, grandchildren Michael (Sherry) Yankey, Tracy (Gary) Arndt, Meagan (Adam) Blair, Jill (Grant) Thompson; great grandchildren Kortney Yankey, Ian Yankey, Katie Arndt, and Garret Thompson, and great - great granddaughter Bailee Yankey.
