June Reisch was born on June 7, 1933 to Earl and Laura (Myers) Campbell on a farm near Turin, Iowa. She graduated from Onawa High School with the Class of 1951 and began working at Mutual of Omaha.
On November 20, 1954, she was united in marriage to Jerry Reisch of Salix, Iowa, at St. John�s Catholic Church in Omaha, Nebraska. Three children were born to this union: Rhonda, Ronald, and Russell.
After their marriage, they made their home in Council Bluffs, Iowa, until moving to Avoca in 1969. June was a devoted housewife and mother. She sold Avon and helped take care of the church until she began assisting her husband with his insurance agency. She helped him for over twenty-five years.
June was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
June was a resident of the Avoca Nursing Home before her death at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan on Sunday, February 8, 2009. She had attained the age of seventy-five years, eight months, and one day. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jerry, and her brothers and sisters: Louis, Clifford, Annetta, Mildred, Joseph, and Rozella.
She is survived by her children: Rhonda and her husband Mike Hope of Avoca, Iowa, Ron Reisch of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Russ Reisch and his wife Melissa of Auburndale, Florida; five grandchildren; her brother Phil Campbell and his wife Louise of Whiting, Iowa; nieces and nephews; other family members and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 with Rev. John Frost conducting the 10:30 AM service at St. Mary�s Catholic Church in Avoca. Honorary casket bearers were Eldon Riesgaard, Richard Petersen, and Morris Berndt. Serving as casket bearers were Larry Armstrong, Joe Lander, Ed Tompkins, Bryan Berndt, Rex Eichelberger, and Tim Pieken. Interment was held at Graceland Cemetery in Avoca.
