Eric Paul Thompson

Eric Paul Thompson, son of Russell and Dixie (Larson) Thompson was born December 1, 1962 in Harlan, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Irwin, Iowa and he graduated from Irwin Kirkman High School with the class of 1981.
After high school, Eric worked for Oakland Food in Oakland, Iowa. He then moved to Mesa, Arizona in 1984, where he worked in home construction. He returned home in April of 2014, to help take care of his mother.
Eric enjoyed growing up on the farm, playing cards and spending time out on the golf course. He was a longtime member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Irwin.
Eric died on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at his home in Harlan, attaining the age of fifty-four years and twelve days. He was preceded in death by his father Russell.
He is survived by his mother Dixie Thompson of Harlan, Iowa; brother Patrick Gallagher and his wife Pam of Elk Horn, Iowa; sisters Allyson and her husband Bart Schmidt of Lincoln, Nebraska; Cynthia and her husband Lynn Rutherford of Jamestown, Ohio; Elizabeth and her husband Billy Butler of Copperas Cove, Texas; nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.
