Frances M. Johansen
December 1, 1920 — December 1, 2018
Frances (Juel) Johansen daughter of Chris and Anna Marie (Hartvigsen) Juel, was born December 1, 1920 and passed away at the age of 98. She was born and raised in Kimballton area and was one of six children.
Her Mother passed away when she was two years old, she lived with her Grandmother Juel until she was five. When it was time for her to start school, she went to live with an Aunt and Uncle, Ole and Myrtle Hansen.
On August 25, 1940, she married Waldo Johansen at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kimballton, Iowa, where she was baptized and confirmed. Waldo and Frances were privileged to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in 1990. Their greatest life joy was the adoption of their daughter Tami.
Her home and her family were very much a big part of her life. She enjoyed doing handwork, her bridge clubs, and especially enjoyed being with her grandsons when they were growing up and seeing her great granddaughters in later years. She taught bible school, served on I.L.C.W Board, Hospital Board, and Girl Scouts.
Survivors include one daughter, Tami Lakers , son-in-law Tim Lakers, two grandsons Ryan Lakers and Andy (Melissa) Lakers, three great granddaughters Gracie Alacon, Alexis and Madison Lakers, one sister Bernice Johansen of Grimes, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband Waldo, two brothers Hartvig and Folmer Juel, two sisters Goldie Ebert and Minerva Gubbels, two sister-in-laws Dorothy Petersen and Elise Juel.
