Glen D. Arnold, 91, passed from this life on May 17th at his home, Oak Pointe
Assisted Living facility in Maryville Missouri. He was born Nov. 4th 1931 in Sparks Oklahoma to Lynval and Tina Arnold. At age 14 his family moved to Harlan Iowa. Glen married Darlene Huber on April 10th 1951 and they lived in Harlan and were married for 2 weeks short of 63 years when she passed.
Glen served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Harlan and served on the church board for 33 years.
He worked for the City of Harlan Street Department for 32 years and was a
Volunteer Fireman in Harlan for 28 years.
Glen loved people and never met a stranger. He and Darlene loved camping with friends and grandkids. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking and helping people.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lynval and Tina, his wife Darlene,
brothers Donald (Marilyn) Arnold, Kenneth Arnold, Robert Arnold, and sister
Martha Lynn Peterson, [Ronnie]
He is survived by his son Randy (Karel) Arnold; grandchildren, Jamie (Mike) Day and Garet (Emma) Arnold; great grandchildren, Noah Arnold, Bear Arnold, Maverick Arnold, Rhema Day, and Zuri Arnold; brother, Raymond (Susan) Arnold; sisters-in-law, Audrey (Kenneth) Arnold, Vivian (Robert) Arnold, Betty Anderson, Joyce Provancha, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family requests no flowers. Glen loved little kids and if a memorial is
presented, please direct it to: The Bridge Church @ 1122 South Main St. Maryville, Mo 64468 where the funds will be used for the Children's Program. Please address Glen Arnold memorial on the check memo. OR they can be left at the Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan. Or online at the Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan.
Services will be held at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan on June 9th with visitation starting at 10:30 and service at 11:00. Lunch @ Shelby County Golf course to follow with graveside service at Kirkman cemetery following lunch.
