Glenn Donald Beck

Glenn Donald Beck, 73, of Lexington, SC, home town of Denison, IA died on September 6, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Beck was the son of the late Glenn William Beck and Margaret Blackman (Beck) Schimerowski of Denison, IA. Mr. Beck attended St. Rose of Lima Parochial School and graduated from Denison High in 1954. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955-1958, graduated from the University of South Carolina with a B.S.E.E. in 1964 and retired in 1991 from Bell Systems Group. Mr. Beck is survived by his beloved wife, Meredith Beck (Mikki) from Lexington, SC: son, Glenn Donald Beck, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, step-son, Mario Perez of Florence, SC; three daughters, Glynis Welsh of Atlanta, GA, Gelene Braswell of Mobile, AL, Claudia Ballentine of Mathews, NC; one granddaughter, and five grandsons. He was also survived by his only sibling, brother, Robert Joseph “Bob” Beck, who died two days later on September 8, 2009. Mr. Beck will be remembered for the love he had for family, his work ethics, his honesty and his selfless service to his neighbors and friends.
