Gordon Nielsen

Gordon “Gordy” Nielsen was born April 21, 1951, to Earl and Doris (Thompson) Nelson at Audubon Hospital in Audubon, Iowa.
Gordon live in the Redline area and attended the Irwin/Kirkman School. After school, Gordon moved to the Omaha area and worked at the University of Nebraska Hospital, there he worked in the laundry department fo a few years. After leaving the Omaha area, he came back to Harlan and worked for Stabilt and Wester Engineering. Gordon later acquired a custodian job at Country Care Farm until his health declined. Gordy made his home in Harlan for several years.
Gordon enjoyed fishing, Wild Willey’s, BBQ grilling, and being at home. As his health declined, Gordy became a resident of Country Care Facility and later moved to Atlantic Specialty Care.
Gordon died Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Atlantic Specialty Care in Atlantic, Iowa, having attained the age of sixty-six years, four months, and three days. He is preceded in death by his parents, still born brother David,.
He is survived by his sisters, Diane Ware of Omaha, Nebraska; Lorraine Hoeft Brensel of Omaha, Nebraska; Denise Kimmen of Harlan, Iowa; nieces and nephews.
