Hilda Krueger was born at Charter Oak, Iowa, July 24, 1912, the daughter of Louis and Emma Martens Kelm. She was received into God?s Kingdom of Grace through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism August 18, 1912 at St. John?s Lutheran Church in Charter Oak and confirmed in her Christian Faith there March 28, 1926. She was raised in Charter Oak and received her education at St. John?s Lutheran School. On August 22, 1933, Hilda was united in marriage with Adolph Krueger in Soldier Township. Their union was blessed with two sons, Darrell and Richard. They farmed in the Charter Oak area for seventeen years and then moved to Denison. After moving to Denison Hilda was employed at Cronks for fifteen years, Eventide for fifteen years and at the Park Motel for three years before retiring. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, cooking and baking. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. Since September of 2007 Hilda made her home at the Denison Care Center in Denison where her death occurred Wednesday, October 15, 2008. At the time of her death she had been blessed with 96 years, 2 months and 21 days. Including her parents, Louis and Emma Kelm, Hilda was also preceded in death by her husband, Adolph, July 15, 1978, son, Darrell Krueger, one grandson, Ricky Krueger, two sisters, Alinda Hageman and Adela Strait and four brothers, Martin, Arthur, Louie and Bill Kelm. Those remaining to cherish her memory include one son, Richard Krueger of Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska, five grandchildren, Randy Krueger of Omaha, Nebraska, Darel and husband, Tom Bernholtz of Denison, Kathy and husband, Roger Wolcott of Omaha, Nebraska, Lynn and husband, Dennis Gawerecki of Omaha, Nebraska, and Terri and husband, Efran Perez of Omaha, Nebraska, 8 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, former daughter-in-law, Linda and husband, Darrell Peffer of Denison, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 17, 2008, at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, Iowa, with the Rev. Kurt R. Kaiser and the Rev. David M. Sewing officiating. Music for the service was provided by Renae Claussen singing "Just As I Am" and "How Great Thou Art" and the congregation singing "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and "Abide With Me" with Karen Kahl serving as organist. Pallbearers included Dewayne Krueger, Richard Brown, Randall Krueger, Rick Krueger, Ron Kelm and Gary Ladwig. Interment was at Crawford Heights Memory Gardens in Denison. Following the interment the family invited everyone to return to the church and join them for a luncheon prepared and served by the Dorcas Society. The Pfannebecker Funeral Home,
